Scotlandville Magnet High School

At Scotlandville Magnet High School we have a very clear vision. We want every student to leave us prepared for life and work in the 21st century.

We have high aspirations and expectations of every single one of our students. We strive for success for all.

From the Principal

Greetings Hornet Family,

As we approach the beginning of the next school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given both to your child and to the school. I would like to reflect on the highlights of last year, such as being recognized for averaging higher than the state’s graduation rate, a National Distinguished Academy of Engineering for the sixth straight year, Division I basketball championship winners, and graduating several All-American athletes. Accomplishments like this put us on the right track to becoming an even better school.

We are continuing many proud traditions this year, including homecoming week, running 30 extra-curricular activities and developing a culture and environment that enhances student learning and development. SMHS is fortunate to have been a part of the tax plan that will enhance our engineering labs and athletic facilities.

I have also had many positive comments from the community where our students volunteered. They have been a credit to you and our school.

Finally, I would like to remind parents or guardians that school reopens on Thursday, August 8th.

I hope you have had a wonderful summer, and I look forward to welcoming your child back to school.
